Sue was born in the Midwest. While she grew up in the
midwest and the southern areas of the U.S., she
considers Poughkeepsie her home. She has been a local
resident for 45 years and raised her three children here. She has an A.A. from Dutchess Community College, a B.S. from SUNY
New Paltz and an M.S. from Pace University.
Throughout
her adult life, she has been very active in the
Community. Prior to her career at Town Hall, she was a
Business Education Teacher. Sue has been involved In the
Junior League and Hudson Valley Philharmonic.
Additionally, she has served on the Board of the YWCA
and the Mill Street Loft. Additionally, she has served
on the Board of Elections and has been a member of the
Town of Poughkeepsie Historic Preservation Commission
since 1994.
Sue has been
the Town Clerk for 16 years. In addition to those
duties, Susan is very active in Town Clerk Associations
at the County and State level. She has twice served as
President of the Dutchess County Clerks Association and
will become the District Two Director for the New York
State Town Clerks Association on July 1, 2009.
Sue is
seeking re-election because she loves her job and wishes
to continue to serve the people of the Town of
Poughkeepsie. |
